Full description
Enjoy a 3-hour afternoon bike ride around central London to see many of the city’s most historic sites. Meet your guide on the south bank of the River Thames, close to the Southbank arts complex, and select your bike. Then, head into the back streets of Waterloo and for the first 'Theatre' stop, Kevin Spacey's Old Vic. Banksy's graffiti tunnel installation follows the street food markets of Lower Marsh, and all of a sudden, it's back onto the river at the majestic Lambeth Palace, the residence of the Archbishop of Canterbury (the Church of England's equivalent of the Pope!). Cycle along the River Thames to Lambeth Palace, one of London's oldest buildings, and home of the head of The Church of England. Now, cross to the north side of the river to explore the lanes of traditional red brick houses, cycling though a back gate into Westminster Abbey School courtyard, the first school in England. Just outside the school, you will be standing on the place where so many kings and queens have had their coronation, and been buried in the crypt of Westminster Abbey. Cycle past Horse Guard’s Parade - site of the 2012 Olympic Beach Volleyball Competition - St. James's Park, Clarence House, and Buckingham Palace, the Queen’s official London residence. Then, bike up Constitution Hill into the open spaces of Hyde Park. From Hyde Park, travel through the exclusive Mayfair district, past the US Embassy, New Bond Street, Carnaby Street, and into Soho, the party center of London. Pedal to Covent Garden, home of the Royal Opera House, street theater, and much more. The trip is nearly over, as you wind your way back to the river and cross Waterloo Bridge, where you will get one of the best views of London on a curve of the river.

It is an ideal option if you have little time and want to know the essentials of London in a different, fun and practical way. They also teach you corners that go out of the ordinary ... we went with a friend who lives there and even for her it was surprising.

Great way to see the sights

Really enjoyed our cycle tour which included a whole host of famous London sights. Olly was a great guide along with his British sound track. Played a wee but of Rod Stewart for us Scots on the tour. Second bike tour we’ve done in London and the second tour where there’s been a participant who couldn’t cycle confidently. If cycling in London I would recommend that you need to be able to cycle! Me and my 14 yr old son loved the tour and would 100% recommended it.

Fun and Informative

This was a great tour of London's west end. We visited many beautiful and historically significant neighbourhoods and landmarks. My guide was knowledgeable and passionate about London's history. The trip requires a few instances of cycling on busy streets. There are usually bike lanes, but you will make a few lane changes in traffic. The guide takes the lead, but these portions of the tour might be intimidating if you are not comfortable cycling in traffic. If you are comfortable if traffic then I highly recommend this tour. It is a very efficient way to visit many interesting landmarks and get a fascinating history lesson.
