Experience cemeteries and interrogations, silver pennies and executions as you step back to the Middle Ages. Meet Wolfram, your night watchman guide in the central square of Marienplatz. They'll be carrying a lantern, halberd and horn to help immerse you in the world of medieval Munich. Walk with your group to Munich's 12th century city wall, and learn about the executions and beheadings of the middle ages. Smell incense in the ancient remains of St. Peter's church, and learn about the punishments for bad bakers at Metzgerzeile. Witness the closing of the Talburg Gate and a fight with a halberd. Learn about the terrifying torture techniques used in medieval prisons. You'll also explore the city's castle and the Schwabinger Gate, as you discover the fascinating and gruesome history of middle age Munich.

Really wonderful evening with the Night Watchman on his rounds locking down the wall in Munich. Enjoyed learning about mid-evil Munich and seeing the sights. Wolfgang is a fantastic guide and really knows the history, plus he is very entertaining and enthusiastic about the tour. Highly recommend the tour.

What a fabulous tour! Our night watchman was enthusiastic, playful, and a great storyteller, and he has clearly done careful research into the history of Munich. I also very much appreciated his giving the tour in English to make sure that all of us could understand. (His English is excellent.) I would most definitely take a tour with this particular guide again.
