Full description
Enjoy a culinary experience in the East Village, the birthplace of punk. Try great food as you explore this artsy neighborhood with an experienced guide. Meet your guide outside Theater 80. Follow them through the heart of the East Village. Visit four restaurants for two appetizers, one entree, and one dessert, with a sprinkling of culinary history and stories in between. For example, indulge in a savory fried selection of eight Pierogi filled with ingredients like sweet potato and arugula and goat cheese at a historic Ukrainian restaurant known as a local institution. Following this, enjoy duck croquette pintxo and manchego membrillo pintxo, or an off-menu homemade hot dog at a trendy Basque restaurant run by Chef Jonah Miller, star of the book Generation Chef. Then, taste lobster knuckles escargot-style and fluke crudo with carrot puree and black sesame at a local oyster bar and East Village favorite. Finally, savor one of New York City’s best NY-style cheesecakes at a historic stained-glass frescoed Italian Bakery with coffee.
