Pinhão: Rabelo Boat 1-Hour Guided Tour

1. Pinhão: Rabelo Boat 1-Hour Guided Tour

Navigate on a unique river, in the heart of the oldest wine demarcated region in the world and also a UNESCO world heritage site. You start from Pinhão, pass under the Eiffel iron bridge going up stream until the Roncão area where you turn around and return to Pinhão. Along the way you’ll see hills of terraced vineyards until the river, with no national roads or traffic in sight. Although you do the same stretch up and down, it could very well be a different one, because seeing it in one direction and then on the other creates two completely different points of view and sights. The traditional rabelo boats have open and closed areas, so navigation can be comfortably made in all kinds of weather, all year long.

What people are saying about Norte Region

The day trip was great! The transfer to Arouca as well as the hike itself worked without any problems and could also be arranged flexibly. In other words, if you want to skip the bridge or don't want to hike any further after the halfway point. The food in the restaurant was also very tasty and there would also have been a vegetarian alternative. Luis, the guide for our day, accompanied us wonderfully and gave us a lot of historical and geographical information! I can only recommend this day trip!

The suspension bridge and Paiva walkways are an unique experience, highlighting the beautiful Portuguese countryside . The walk was about 8 kms long following the Paiva River , which was beautiful even on a rainy day . Our guide Ricardo was friendly and attentive… helping in any way he could to make it a wonderful day . We enjoyed a delicious traditional lunch served family style The tour ended with a boat ride in Aveiro and a quick stop at the pretty houses along the beach in Costa Nova

The tour was cool. Nice adventure and different way to see Douro Valley. It would be nice if they’d switch the order of cars midway. You stay on the same line order the entire tour, so if you’re at the back of the line you may struggling to hear/see any signals and you’re stuck depending on how well the car in front of you keeps up with the group.

We were a group of 6, 2 adults and 4 kids, youngest is 4 and the oldest is 12. We all enjoyed it a lot. The tour was amazing for us and the kids. Our guide/driver was very friendly and fun. We highly recommend that tour it was one of the best things we did in Porto.

Miguel was a fantastic tour guide, he was friendly and informative and had a great sense of humour. Even though the weather wasn’t great it was still worth the trip and would recommend this for anyone.
