1. From Reykjavík: 3-Day Tour of the Wild Westfjords

Enjoy the experience of a lifetime on this 3-day guided tour of the wild Westfjords, departing from Reykjavík. You’ll see the breathtaking beauty of one of the most unspoiled areas of Iceland, filled with exciting places to visit, where nature reigns supreme! Day 1 Embark on your Westfjords adventure with a pick-up in the capital and a scenic drive to Borgarnes. Along the way, we'll visit Eiriksstaðir, the Viking heritage museum, where you can explore the turf-roofed house that was once home to Eirik the Red and his son Leif the Lucky. As we continue, you'll be treated to breathtaking views of the coastal cliffs at Breiðafjörður, the gateway to the Westfjords. Countless fjords await you on this road trip, with plenty of opportunities to stop and take in the magnificent scenery. One of the highlights will be the Vatnsfjörður Natural Reserve, home to Þingmanná Waterfalls and a stunning canyon. Another stop will be at Birkimel Bay with its sandy beach, where you can experience (optional) the Krosslaug Swimming Pool - a true Icelandic gem. This natural pool, run by the local Youth Association, offers a chance to relax and soak in warm geothermal waters while enjoying the beautiful surroundings. Crossing the towering Kleifaheiði mountain range, you'll be amazed by the 5-meter-high stone statue called Kleifabúi, a testament to the dedication of the engineers who built the mountain road. Day 2 Enjoy incredible Westfjord vistas as you explore the towering cliffs at Látrabjarg, a perfect place for bird spotting. Look out for the Garðar shipwreck on the way! This is the westernmost point in Iceland, where thousands of seabirds (including puffins!) make their way every summer. Take a stroll on the multicolored sands of Rauðisandur, and enjoy views of Fossfjörður waterfall and the iconic “A-House.” Then, gaze in wonder at Dynjandi, the wedding cake-shaped cascade with its seven-step “waterfall ladder.” Finish your second day with a great night out in Ísafjörður, the capital of the Westfjords. Day 3 The day start with visit at the top of Bolafjall (638m) and walk on the skywalk viewing platform build over steep cliffs. Then, we will stop at charming Ósvör Fishing Village (collection of turf-roofed buildings) and Óshólaviti Lighthouse. Then it is time to start the drive via the Seven Fjords Road. The road hugs the coastline and offers uninterrupted views of fjords, mountains, and glaciers in all directions. You’ll enjoy unforgettable views wherever you look as the road traces its way up and down seven breathtaking fjords. Arctic foxes roam this area, so keep a close eye out for the only native land mammal in Iceland here! If you won´t have luck, you can still meet them at Arctic Fox Center and contribute to their protection. There will also be a stop at Hvitanes, one of the most accessible places to spot seals in the Westfjords, so we’ll take a look at these charming creatures here.
