Get picked up from your hotel at 5:45 AM and drive to the railway station for a scenic train ride to Ohiya station. Arrive at 8:30 AM where you will be picked up and transferred to Horton Plains National Park. When you arrive, begin your walk along the park's nature trails to a viewpoint known as World’s End with your guide. Walking through the narrow paths will be really interesting as you pass grasslands and interspersed with patches of thick forest, rocky outcrops, filigree waterfalls, and misty lakes. The surprising diversity of the landscape is matched by the wide variety of wildlife. The World's End Viewpoint is a sheer cliff, with a drop of about 4,000 feet (1,200 m). Nearby, you will also find the Baker Falls, a 20-meter cascade of water named after Sir Samuel Baker, a famous explorer. Admire the stunning views, relax and enjoy scenic beauty. At 2:30 PM you will be taken back to your hotel, arriving at approximately 4:30 PM.

The sanctuary is set in Thangamale, the golden mountain, the best and most interesting path to approach this sanctuary is a trek down The trek has a distance of about five to six KM and the route will grant you a breathtaking vista–on the left the Uva basin, and on the right the majestic Thangamale Mountain. It is the home to blue magpies, paradise flycatchers, green barbets, mini-verts hornbills, golden orioles and host of other bird life that include spot winged thrush, black napped monarch, yellow eared bulbul, velvet fronted nuthatch, Malabar trogon, scimitar babbler, black eagle. The tour began early morning at 5.AM with packet breakfast, we meet you at the Ella, bandarawela,or Haputale Railway station for a scenic train ride to Ohiya station. Arrive at 8:30 AM where you will be picked up and transferred to Horton Plains National Park. By vehicle Horton Plains National Park is a protected area in the central highlands of Sri Lanka and is covered by Montana grassland and cloud forest. This plateau at an altitude of 2,100–2,300 metres (6,900–7,500 ft) is rich in biodiversity and many species found here are endemic to the region. This region was designated a national park in 1988. It is also a popular tourist destination. The plains’ vegetation is grasslands interspersed with montane forest, and includes many endemic woody plants. Large herds of Sri Lankan sambar deer feature as typical mammals, and the park is also an Important Bird Area with many species not only endemic to Sri Lanka but restricted to the Horton Plains. Forest dieback is one of the major threats to the park and some studies suggest that it is caused by a natural phenomenon. The sheer precipice of World’s End and Baker’s Falls are among the tourist attractions of the park. We trek 3 to 4 Hours in the Horton’s plane and back to the gate for a picnic lunch After the picnic lunch if you like to climb the Totapolakanda is the third highest mountain in Sri Lanka 2,357 m (7,733 ft) above mean sea level. The mountain is located within the Horton Plains National Park. A trail to the top of the mountain, about two kilometres long, Most parts of the mountain surface is covered with shrubs adapted to the cool and windy climate of Horton Plains National Park. Strobilanthes, Osbeckia and Rhodomyrtus species grown as shrubs are common among them. Trail to Thotupola kanda will let you experience the unique montane forest ecosystem of Horton plains with minimum difficulty. On a clear day, you will be able to enjoy the breath-taking view of the surrounding savanna and forest patches of Horton Plains from the summit. Even though Thotupola kanda is the third highest peak inSri Lanka, this trail is easy to tackle since the elevation gain from trail head to the peak is quite smal About two hours to up and back and we drive back to Ohiya station and take the train back to Ella, Haputale Or Bandarawela
