Check where the entrances are beforehand (more than one) & be sure to pick up a map from Louvre reception (lots of languages available) Tonnes to look it & enjoy, don’t just go there and make a beeline for Mona Lisa (you won’t get close & will probably be underwhelmed!)

We found it worth getting skip line tix to simplify process of getting in and security. We didn’t use a tour guide inside so we could explore at will. Went into room with Mona Lisa but did not bother getting to front of queue to get photos etc. Too busy and frankly u can look it up any time online. Kids certainly didn’t care about seeing it

having ticket ahead of time was essential. Once the security check was done everything moved along. but line for security was long and slow. could take up to 30 minutes to get through.. you can enter up to 30 mins early however so that helps.. the louvre is great but just too many visitors at one time.. it can make you feel rushed.. don't miss all the great art and collections in a rush to see the Mona Lisa..
