Full description
Visit the rocky uninhabited island of Delos. Despite its small size, Delos was considered one of the most sacred of all islands in ancient Greek culture. Enjoy 3 hours of free time on the island or for a more complete experience, hire a private professional guide upon arrival, or join a group tour before moving on. Next, go to the famous island of Mykonos where you will have another 3 hours of free time. It is recommended that you use this time to explore Mykonos Town. Walk to Little Venice, wander in the picturesque alleys, and climb the hill with the windmills and enjoy the spectacular views. After your free time on the island, you will return to Paros in the early evening.

Delos is an underrated highlight of an itinerary to the Cyclades for those who enjoy history. The ruins in and of themselves are substantial and fascinating, as well as being crowned by a semi-challenging but rewarding hike to a central high point that offers stunning 360 degree views (accompanied late in the season by stiff 25 mile per hour winds) of the sea. If like me you are staying on other islands, getting to follow this up with a short jaunt to Mykonos to at least get a flavor (literally as well as figurative, given the number of water's edge restaurants near the port) is a rather nice bonus. The ferry crew were timely and no-nonsense - polite, but only to the point of not interfering with scheduling (for most of us that is welcome). I did not have a guide but have read enough history and enjoy traveling solo (plus you get to meet other people sometimes that way). Highest recommendation for this as an additional activity during your stay.

Delos and Mykonos were amazing. Walking around the ruins on Delos was eye opening. The hike up the mountain was well worth it, and it provided great views. The ferry ride over there was rough, with people throwing up, it got me wondering when they would cancel because of the waves?! Other than that, Mykonos was also amazing. Great views and good time there. More time on Mykonos May be needed?! Great trip overall!

I spontaneously booked the excursion the day before and very quickly received an email with everything important. We were picked up in Alki at 8:25 in the morning and taken to Naoussa. There our tickets were then scanned and we received our ticket for the day. When entering and leaving the boat, the crew gives you all the important information about arrival and departure. On Delos I recommend everyone to go exploring on their own! The tour with a guide is not really worth it because he wants 7€ more and only does route 1 of 1:30 hours. If you are quick and do not explore every information board down to the last detail, you can even climb the mountain in Delos and route 2 in less than 3 hours. I will not go into more detail about Mykonos now because this island simply speaks for itself. I can definitely recommend this excursion to everyone.
