From Budpaest: Páty Wine Village Tour with Tastings

1. From Budpaest: Páty Wine Village Tour with Tastings

Experience the perfect wine tour for those who wish to venture outside of Budapest and discover the wine regions of Hungary. Start the tour by getting picked up from the meeting point in central Budapest and set off for the small wine-producing village of Páty, which is just a 20-minute drive outside of the city. Here, find a variety of old, astonishing cellars, which were built as early as 1880. These typical cellars can be found only in this region and have the feel of the Hobbit burrows in the Shire from the Lord of the Rings. On the way to Páty, listen as your guide gives you an introduction to Hungary's 1000-year-old wine tradition. When you arrive in the region, visit wineries, one of which is known for making organic wines. Meet the winemakers and head to their cellars for a tasting of at least 4 glasses of wine at each location. Enjoy an interactive tasting experience where you will have many opportunities to ask questions and get to know the local producers. At the final wine cellar, the host will prepare a tapas plate of olives, ham, sausages, and different cheeses all produced in the region by local farmers. After the program, return to Budapest and get dropped off back at the meeting point where your memorable day will conclude.

The wine tour to the tiny village of Paty was a very unique and original experience! Our guide Miklas made it very interesting by first telling us a bit of BudaPest history and then the history of Paty and the concept of the personally owned wine cellars. Mikki answered a lot of our questions about wine making, various wine regions in the country and answered random questions that popped up during the tour. The wine cellar owner was generous with tastings and fed us light snacks. We met a wonderful fun couple on the trip. So the tour was a total success. Thanks Mikki!!!

Absolutely worth it. Informative, extremely nice guide, great homemade cheese salami, homemade donuts and great wines!! Small groups, there were 6 of us, a couple from Copenhagen, one from New Zealand.. great people, good vibes. We would recommend to everyone. Absolutely worth the money !

This wine tour and Tasting met and exceeded our expectations. Having a wine expert guide our experience and to inter face with the wine maker was very informative. It was a small group so we could ask our questions and discuss the wines. It was a great afternoon!

Amazing experience! Miki immersed in the Hungarian wine making experience. We learned so much about the region and what makes these local wines so special. The wine, the food, the company, the location... 10 out of 10!

We drove from budapest to the village then had a description of Hungarian wines us a tasting of 4-5 wines with cheese, bread etc.
