Enjoy a full 3 days exploring the dramatic scenery of the Scottish Highlands and the romance of the island of Skye in a small group tour. Day 1: Depart Edinburgh by luxury Mercedes minibus at and travel west, passing Linlithgow Palace, the birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots. Continue towards Stirling with its imposing castle and views of the Wallace Monument. You will pass Doune Castle, movie location for scenes from Monty Python's infamous "Holy Grail," before stopping at the edge of the Highlands for refreshments. As you drive into the Highlands you will pass Loch Luibnaig, Loch Earn, Crianlarich and Tyndrum, stopping for lunch along the way. Drive north through Glencoe, scene of the great massacre of the Clan Macdonald in 1692. Continue to Fort William and up to the Commando Memorial at Spean Bridge, offering magnificent views over Ben Nevis. Next you will take the "Road to the Isles," through the splendor of the 5 Sisters of Kintail, the mountains that guard the pass to the Isle of Skye. Stop to visit the famous Eilean Donan Castle, used in the film "Highlander" and located at the junction of 3 lochs as protection against Viking raiders. Crossing over the bridge to Skye, you head north to Portree where you will be dropped off at your accommodation. Enjoy an evening and dinner at leisure, exploring the town’s Gaelic attractions and harborside. Day 2: You will spend the day on the Isle of Skye with flexible arrangements. There are many possibilities, depending on the weather, and the dynamics of your group. Your driver/ guide's local knowledge will come to the fore to arrange the best day for everyone. You could travel north to explore the Trotternish Peninsula with its stunning Quiraing mountain pass and some of Skye's extraordinary geological scenery. Or head to Kilt Rock, composed of basalt columns that are reminiscent of the pleats in a kilt. Enjoy the magic of the waterfall, cascading over cliffs and down into the sea below. Take a short break for lunch, before continuing to explore this most dramatic of islands. Head in a westerly direction to Dunvegan castle, the ancestral home of Clan Macleod, or enjoy spectacular views at Neist Point, the most westerly point of Skye. Return you to your accommodation in Portree in the early evening to enjoy dinner and the rest of the evening at leisure. Day 3: Your driver will collect you from your accommodation and head south through the Cuillin Hills, back over to the mainland for stunning views over Loch Duich and the 5 Sisters of Kintail. Move on to Loch Ness for lunch. Look out for "Nessie," the mysterious monster that has haunted and confounded visitors since the 1950s. Head south through the Grampian Mountains along Loch Laggan, famous as the location for the TV miniseries "Monarch of the Glen," before passing Dalwhinnie, home to Scotland's highest whisky distillery. You will pause for refreshments at Blair Castle, before heading back to Edinburgh via Perth and over the extraordinary Forth Road Bridge.

You leave the cobbled streets of Edinburgh and travel past Linlithgow Palace and Stirling Castle. This region is soaked in history, so sit back and relax as your driver-guide entertains you with the tales of Mary Queen of Scots, William Wallace, and Scottish folklore. If you keep a look out, you can catch a glimpse of the Kelpies. These 30-metre tall horse head sculptures need to be seen to be believed. Your driver-guide takes you to their favourite stop within the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park where you can grab coffee and enjoy the views. After this stop, it’s time to get your camera ready. Because as you travel north into the Highlands, the landscapes suddenly become more provocative. Shimmering lochs, rugged mountains, forest filled glens: it’s all so beautiful that it’s easy to forget these were once battlegrounds for fiercely territorial Highland clans. You stop in Glencoe, one of the most famous natural landmarks in all of Scotland. This beautiful area boasts steep slopes and photogenic peaks. Your driver-guide may reveal to you the tragic tale that’s haunted this valley for over 300 years. You then enter the glacial valley known as the Great Glen and pass under the shadow of Ben Nevis, Britain’s tallest mountain. After this visual feast of mighty inclines, you arrive in Fort Augustus on the banks of Loch Ness. At 23 miles long and over 700ft deep, Loch Ness is the largest loch by volume in Scotland. You have around one hour and a half here. You can search for the infamous monster on a relaxing boat cruise,* wander around the shores of the loch at your own pace, and grab a bite to eat. Your journey south is packed full of classic Highland scenery. You travel through the curvy Cairngorms National Park, along Loch Laggan, and past Blair Castle. Amongst the tall trees of Perthshire, you have a final refreshment break before journeying alongside the UNESCO Forth Rail Bridge and back into Edinburgh. *The Loch Ness boat cruise is weather dependent and may be cancelled without notice. This route may be reversed on some occasions.

Discover Scotland’s connections to the Harry Potter films on a day trip in the Highlands. Ride from Edinburgh on a comfortable bus and transfer to the Hogwarts Express train for an unforgettable journey to Glen Coe through locations like Rannoch Moor. Depart the city by bus and journey north, passing the magnificent Forth Bridge, the Kingdom of Fife, and Perth. Admire the Glenfinnan Viaduct on a stunning drive up the West Coast. Next, you’ll travel across its iconic arches from Mallaig on the Jacobite Steam Train, also known as the Hogwarts Express. After experiencing one of the world’s most beautiful railway lines, head to Glen Coe. See the dramatic landscapes used as the backdrop for some much-loved scenes in the Harry Potter films. Travel to Scone Palace and explore the Palace to learn its long history and see the ancient coronation site for the Kings & Queens of Scotland. Departing Edinburgh, we travel through the beautiful Perthshire countryside and begin the day with a short hike to Kinnoull Tower, with stunning views across the city of Perth. Then we're off to visit Scone Palace to explore this incredible place. Once the coronation site for the Kings & Queens of Scotland, this elegant Palace holds a commanding view across the city of Perth and the River Tay, Scotland's Longest River. Continuing the travels north into the Highlands of Scotland, the next stop takes its name from a visit by a very famous Queens from the British Monarchy, The Queens View. A spot visited by Queen Victoria on her travels north with her husband Albert, they decided to stop by this spot for a view over Loch Tummel & what a view it is! The next spot visited on the Scone Palace tour is Killiecrankie, where you'll learn about the 1689 Jacobite Uprising Battle of Killiecrankie, led by Bonnie Dundee. A short hike to a spot called the Soldiers Leap, you'll learn how this name came about and be offered stunning views down into the River Garry. Now begin your travels south to the Birks of Aberfeldy, a stunning hike through the beautiful woodland towards spectacular waterfalls which inspired one of Scotland's famous poets to compose his poem about the falls, Robert "Rabbie" Burns. After the hike, continue travelling south from the Highlands of Scotland to our next destination, Huntingtower Castle. This charming castle once hosted Mary Queen of Scots and her husband, Lord Darnley. Learn about the Ruthven Raid, where a young James VI (6th) was held hostage for months. After visiting our final stop, we travel back down to Edinburgh.

Set off from Glasgow, Scotland’s largest city, and travel north into the Scottish Highlands towards the town of Fort Augustus and the famous Loch Ness. En route, stop at Scotland’s first National Park, Loch Lomond and the Trossachs, for a 5-minute walk to see some panoramic views over Loch Lomond. Continue north, along winding highland roads and the banks of Loch Lomond until you reach Rannoch Moor. This is one of the last remaining true wilderness locations to be found anywhere in Scotland. Marvel at this striking expanse of open boggy moorland, once home to a Caledonian Pine forest. Carry onto the grandeur of the world famous Glencoe mountains and their turbulent history. Listen to your guide reveal stories of the MacDonald Clan who once made this stunning slice of land their home. Next, make your way through the outdoor capital of the Highlands, Fort William, and progress north to the famous banks of Loch Ness, where mystery, folklore, mythical, or actual creatures await. Board a boat and take a cruise in search of this elusive and shy creature, if you wish. Otherwise, wait or walk along the shores of the loch, keeping a watchful eye for any ripples on the calm waters. Carry on and travel east towards the Cairngorms National Park. Here, take a short hike in the unforgettable Highlands before continuing one to Blair Atholl, Pitlochry, and Perth. En route, step out and see some dramatic waterfalls in their picturesque highland setting. Continue south towards Stirling and learn how Stirling Castle is one of the most besieged castles in Scotland, how it is connected to Mary Queen of Scots, King Robert the Bruce, Bonnie Prince Charlie, and the Jacobite uprising. Head back to Glasgow, reminiscing about your Scottish experience.

Day 1: Your tour will begin as you depart the cosmopolitan city of Edinburgh and travel into the Highlands. Your first stop of the day is in the village of Dunkeld. There you can stretch your legs and admire the cathedral’s unusual mixture of architectural styles, before you venture through the shadows of the great and gorgeous Grampian Mountains and stop for lunch at a Highland town in the Spey Valley. After lunch, head to Loch Ness where your driver/guide will help you attempt to catch a glimpse of Scotland’s most famous mythical monster. Corrieshalloch Gorge is a lesser-known Scottish sight, but it’s sure to be one that you’ll also love. In the early evening, you will arrive in the scenic fishing port of Ullapool for your overnight stay. Day 2: First on your second day's agenda is a ferry journey across the sea. This 2.5-hour boat trip takes you through the Summer Isles to Stornoway, the main town of the Western Isles. Once you’ve arrived on Lewis and Harris, you will head to the north-west coast. Your driver/guide will make the most of what weather you’ve been blessed with, taking you through traditional crofting towns and seaside ports. You will later spend the evening in Stornoway; a bustling port town and the home of Scotland’s most delicious black pudding. Day 3: On your third day, it will be time to enter the region of Harris. Harris boasts the highest mountains in the Outer Hebrides and is home to one of the most beautiful white-sandy beaches in Britain, Luskentyre. After a morning of exploring the dramatic landscapes, you will stop for lunch. Depending on the weather, you may even go for a picnic on the beach. Back onto the Isle of Lewis, you will visit the Callanish Stone Circle, a prehistoric sight which still mystifies archeologists today. A little down the road, you will visit the stone fort of Dun Carloway, before heading back to Stornoway in the late afternoon. Day 4: On your fourth day, you will travel through a landscape littered with crofting villages to Arnol Blackhouse. There you can experience what traditional farming life was like in these remote reaches, without getting your hands too dirty. Following lunch, you will head back to Stornoway where you will take a ferry back to the mainland. You will then head straight for Inverness, the capital of the Highlands and your final overnight stop. Day 5: On your final day, you will leave Inverness and head for Tominoul, the highest village in the Highlands. You will then head into Royal Deeside where you will pay a visit to the Royal Lochnagar Whisky Distillery. There you can witness the craftsmanship of the distillers who make one of Scotland’s finest 12 year old single malts. Following the distillery visit, it will be time for lunch in the charming village of Braemar in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park. From there the route south passes over Scotland’s highest mountain pass, Highland Perthshire, before stopping at Scone Palace, the home of Scotland’s legendary Coronation Stone (also known as the "Stone of Destiny"). From there, it will be a short journey back to Edinburgh.

It’s the longest three-tower cable-stayed bridge in the world (10 minutes) 2) Blackness Castle - Used in series 1 of Outlander Blackness Castle is a 15th-century fortress, near the village of Blackness, Scotland, on the south shore of the Firth of Forth. Many high-status prisoners were held here in later medieval times. Option to go inside for a tour on request. (15 minutes) 3) The Kelpies - 100ft tall horse-head sculptures. Built 2013 between Falkirk and Grangemouth. The origins of the kelpie are believed to be rooted in human sacrifices to the water gods however this concept eventually died out and the story of the kelpie was then used to keep children from playing too near the lochs and dangerous rivers (20 minutes) 4) Callander, Scotland - beautiful Roman town known as the gateway to the Highlands. We'll explore Mhor Bread Bakery - freshly made sourdough and legendary pies (45 minutes) 5) Callander Drinks Company - drinks company set up by enthusiastic drinks geeks! We can pop in for a Whiskey or Gin tasting or a browse around the shop. (45 minutes) 6) Kilmahog - Trossachs Visitor Centre is home to three beautiful Highland Cows – Hamish Dubh, Honey, and Holly. We'll admire the wonderful animals and you have the option to feed them too. 7) Falls of Dochart - Located in the pretty village of Killin where we'll stop and get close to the rapids for some beautiful photos (15 minutes) 8) Loch Tay, Loch Tay - We'll drive alongside the exquisite Loch Tay. It is the largest body of fresh water in Perth and Kinross, and the sixth largest loch in Scotland. 9) The Birks of Aberfeldy - We can go for a hike up the steep gorge of the Moness burn which reveals several waterfalls along the way. (1 hour) 10) Iain Burnett Highland Chocolatier - Master Chocolatier Iain Burnett is a truffle specialist who has become known as the Highland Chocolatier. (30 minutes)

Day 2: Start with the drive to Glenfinnan, where you can see the Jacobite train crossing over the viaduct. Take the ferry from Mallaig to reach enchanting Isle of Skye. You will visit Fairy Pools, a natural waterfall phenomenon in Glen Brittle. Overnight on Skye in accommodation of your choice. Day 3: Starting early to make the most of your day. Skye stunning landscapes, so you will explore its top attractions such as the Old Man of Storr, Lealt falls. We leave Skye behind and head towards Inverness. You will make a stop at Eilean Donan Castle. This picturesque castle sits on a small island and is one of most iconic castles in Scotland. Continue your journey to Loch Ness and then to Urquhart Castle. Heading south you'll pass through Cairngorms national Park with its breathtaking landscapes, mountains and wild life before passing Dalwhinnie and Blair Castle. Heading past Perth over the Firth of Forth and back to Edinburgh *this tour can be customise to leave Glasgow instead of Edinburgh.
