Learn the history of Starvation Creek and see the stunning waterfall there, then it's on to marvel at the unparalleled craftsmanship and timeless artwork of historic Timberline Lodge on scenic Mt. Hood, with 4-stories of heavy timber, built by artisans for the Works Progress Administration. Roll through scenic Hood River Valley, where we will visit 2 or more boutique wineries, depending on timing. View astounding Columbia River Gorge and feel the spray of majestic Multnomah Falls, where you can cross a bridge halfway up the waterfall, visit a rustic gift shop, and buy a chocolate chip cookie the size of a dinner plate. We may stop at seasonal craft and produce stands along the way. Lunch is included. Wine tastings can be purchased for an additional fee during your visit, if desired. Ride into the foothills of the western Cascades and ascend to the tree line on Mount Hood, the highest peak in Oregon. Enjoy a wine-tasting flight at one of the area's most renowned wineries, travel on the Mount Hood Railroad, and explore Multnomah Falls with a local guide. After getting picked up from Portland, travel straight to Multnomah Falls. Admire the impressive upper falls, which plummet 542 feet into a pool that runs into the Columbia River, making it the second-highest waterfall in the United States. At the base of the falls, you can visit the Historic Multnomah Falls Lodge for souvenirs and snacks, or visit the interpretative center. What an amazing day and great way to experience the true beauty in Oregon! Our guide at Terran Travels was Ben. He was friendly, knowledgeable and fun! Multnomah Falls was spectacular and the views on the way to Mt. Hood were breathtaking. The wineries we stopped at, especially Wy'East vineyards for lunch was beautiful and had have great wine! We really enjoyed the stop at the fruit stand and had fun exploring the shop and garden. Look no further, this is your tour!
