Full description

Taste the flavors typical to Porto and try local wines on this 3.5-hour culinary tour. First your local guide will take you to a confeitaria for a pão de ló (Portuguese sponge cake) and an espresso. Stop at a market to try sardines served with olives and tomato sauce and a glass of vinho verde, a white wine from northwest Portugal. Then head to the heart of the city for the best bifana (a sandwich filled with thin slices of pork) in town. Next taste a unique dish from Porto called francesinha. This appetizer is made with beef, melted cheese, and a spicy sauce. It is served with a small glass of lambreta (Portuguese draft beer). Explore the narrow medieval streets before stopping to discover the tour's signature secret dish. At the final stop, sample 3 types of Portugal's famous Port wine as you enjoy scenic views of the Douro River. Enjoy an authentic Portuguese food experience as you discover the history and culture of Porto.

Loved the tour, Alexandra was great. Introduced me to food, Drink and places which are a must See! I particularly liked that the tour was informativ in passing local Icons. And at the end of the tour I had experienced loads, but wasn't over eaten.
