Douro Valley: Winery Tour at Quinta do Tedo and Tastings

1. Douro Valley: Winery Tour at Quinta do Tedo and Tastings

Embark on an adventure to the heart of Portugal’s Douro Valley, surrounded by terraced vineyards that climb high above the dramatic confluence of the Douro and Tedo rivers. There lies an 18th-century estate, Quinta do Tedo. Enjoy a full tour of Quinta do Tedo, which includes explanations of the vineyards and the olive orchards. Learn more about Porto and red wine production, foot treading in the lagers, aging in the 18th-century cellars, bottling, and hand-labeling.  At the end of the tour, taste the Quinta do Tedo's Portos and red wines overlooking the Douro River in the renovated 18th-century tasting room. The Quinta’s 100% estate-grown organic grapes come from 37 acres of class "A" vineyards, the highest rating from the Portuguese Instituto do Vinhos do Douro e Porto, comparable to France's Grand Cru.

Excellent time spent in this area, visit of the cellars and explanation of traditional production. And to finish with a very pleasant tasting of the different wines produced. They also do guest house. It is also possible to crush the grapes traditionally (with the feet) during the summer season.

The boat was on time and was clean and comfortable. Our guide Paulo was excellent. Very friendly and knowledgeable. He was generous with the port wine and even gave us home made cookies. I highly recommend this tour.

Visit with the guide to the production and tasting of three varieties (rosé, tawny, Lbv). Interesting and comprehensive explanation. View of the vineyards.

Very good welcome Interesting Magnificent setting Only lacked accompaniment with tasting

Visit and tasting at the top! Our guide, Juliette, was really great!
