It is a very simple tour, you visit the area of the lake in the Cotopaxi park and then they take you to the Quilotoa where you can appreciate the crater and the lagoon, take some good photos and walk around a bit. I clarify, it is not a tour to go down the crater. At first there was a little friction with the guide since they had made an appointment for us at an hour and they arrived about 20 minutes later and the excuse was that one of the passengers was having breakfast in the hotel restaurant, when we hadn't even had breakfast yet because we were on time (Obviously I was upset), but as time passed and as we entered the road, the guide began to chat and enveloped us with the magic of Ecuador and its landscapes. I don't remember the name of the company that took us (since get your guide is only an intermediary) but I congratulate them for the enthusiasm and knowledge they showed at all times. The guides were Daniel and Paulina and they did an excellent job.

It was a good day, we had a great view of Cotopaxi and our guide managed to find us a break in the clouds to see it. It is a long day with lots of sitting in the coach, but the guide had lots of interesting things to tell us about on the way. Quilotoa was really pretty. Unfortunately we didn’t get to do any hiking, which was a bit disappointing, but otherwise it was a nice day.

This trip was amazing. The volcano itself was stunning but the crater lake in Quilotoa is one of the best views I have ever seen. This tour was even more special because of our guide, Daniel. He gave us insight that only a local person who is able to speak perfect English could provide. Daniel is also super friendly and really enjoys discussing his beautiful country. His enthusiasm gave the whole group a lot of energy.
