Picked up a few minutes walk away from our hotel by our guide Thomas (this wasn’t his Icelandic name) who was amazing. Explained some Viking history to us and took us all to a lovely bakery before the big drive started. On the way to the volcano he stopped off on 3 occasions to show us some wonderful sights, one being a hot spring. When we pulled up at the volcano he handed us all walking sticks to help with the climb and informed us all that we would be taking the more challenging route as he believed we’d all be able to manage it. He explained all about the volcano and the different types of lava and took us up on the climb to the mountain… there was about 15 minutes of intense climbing/hiking which got us all out of breath but always felt safe and were allowed to take our time. At the top Thomas offered us all hot chocolate and cake which was a lovely touch! Everyone loved the day!
Great experience! last night I was with tour guide Gunnar and driver magic. Tonight I did the tour again and by pure luck Gunnar was driving and the tour guide a lady called Ciara. Super knowledgeable and really fun to be a part of this tour group. They have many stories to tell about island. 100% you should book with this company they do an amazing job! I just wish I brought cash because they deserve a little extra tip. Thanks again for last time guys! See you again soon!
We had 5 adults hiking and pick up was very prompt. The van was comfortable and the hike was moderately difficult. Our guide kept track of us and made safety recommendations and also helped us with pics of the group. It made the hike very relaxed and fun. The lava field was our favorite part.
We had a really great event! As a treat, the guide was able to explain everything perfectly and he had provided us with pictures that would not have been possible on the day of the excursion. Thanks!
Fantastic experience on the lava field and then relaxing in the blue lagoon.
