Easy to get to the stables. I walked over from the Viking Hotel in Hafnarfjörður (instead of getting picked up and dropped off) and felt safe along the side walk from traffic the whole time. The ponies are looked after well and all the staff at the stables are really nice. We were split into 2 groups based on experience, so you can take it easy and go slow, or if you're more confident do some Tölting.

They really do cater for all ages and abilities! Hadn’t ridden a horse for over 40 years but was well matched with a very laid back, calm horse who gave me some of my confidence back. A gentle ride through a tranquil landscape with the opportunity to learn more about these special Islandic horses. And their customer service is faultless. A unique experience. Thank you.

Great service from Ís Hestar! Jenny was an engaging, knowledgeable guide and went out of her way to make sure the experience was fun and comfortable for everyone. The horses are all well trained and the Lava Fields are a great setting for the riding experience. Highly recommend, especially if the sun is out!
