Full description

Day 1:

After being picked up in Reykjavik, your tour begins by driving on the scenic route 1 to the town of Borgarnes. From there, continue to the Borgarfjodur area, where you will visit the unique Lava Waterfalls called Hraunfossar and nearby Barnafossar waterfalls. Visit Glanni Watefall, Deildartunguhver - the most powerful hot spring in Europe and the Reykholt historic site. The last stop will be at Husafell - the woodland oasis.

From here you can choose your next adventure. You can either go inside the biggest Lava Cave in Iceland called Vidgelmir or go on 4WD tour to visit relaxing Canyon Baths, stopping on the way to soak in the view of the two-tiered Langifoss Waterfall. You will then spend the night in Borgarnes - the capital of West Iceland sitting in the fjord. You will find there charming coffee houses and restaurants, as well as turf houses. The Northern Lights are also famous for playing their incredible symphony of lights in this area if the conditions are favorable.

Day 2: On the second day, travel first to the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, where you will enjoy watching seals play on the beach and take in some amazing sights at the many beautiful creations of nature in the area. See the Snæfellsnesjökull glacier looming as your tour continues around the peninsula.

Admire the beautiful and photogenic mountain of Kirkjufell. Snæfellsnes is also home to the big seal colony that you will have a chance to see at Ytri-Tunga Beach, before heading back to Reykjavik.

The 1st day was very relaxing, even a little bit boring. Maybe more suitable for elder people or whole family. The 2nd day was a bit more intense. We did some hicking, but not for long. Our guid Cristina was super nice and cheerful. Overall I enjoyed my trip and would definitely recommend it if you’re looking for something less intense.

The tour itself is named "2 days Snæfellsnestour" . What did I expect was to be picked up and stay with those people who were with me in the bus all the time . It wasn't like that. It turned out I was the only one who booked a 2 days tour... all the others (we where about 8 people I think) only booked a one day tour. So at the end of the trip they went back to Reykjavik while I was dropped off at a Hotel in Borgarnes. I mean I got my own room (It said there will be double rooms) But since I was the only one staying there from this tour it was awkward to sit alone in the lobby and eat dinner and also breakfast on the next day alone ... The next day I got picked up by another guide and I met another group of people. The people were nice and awsome at boths tours and I made friends on boths days. However I wasn't happy to be the only one who stayed (without knowing anyone) at the hotel and it was impossible to get in touch cuz there were only families and friends staying there together
