Explore the world's most famous amphitheater with an official guide and journey back to the days of the Roman Empire at the monumental Colosseum. Get access to areas not available to regular ticket holders, including the underground level where the wild animals were kept before they went into battle with the gladiators. Enter the arena through the Porta Libitinaria and go up to the first level.

Complete your experience by going further up to the 3rd tier, known as Belvedere (only if you choose this option) for a spectacular view of the arena and surrounding area. Learn about the innovative techniques the engineers used to build the monument and hear how it has survived for hundreds of years. Be amazed as history is brought to life as you discuss the political and social reasons for the games and events. Enjoy a short break and then enter the Roman Forum to get a better appreciation about what everyday life was like in Ancient Rome. Guide was WONDERFUL!! Touriks planning was BAD. Our pricey tour was scheduled from 2-5pm, with the understanding that we would start at the Colosseum and finish at the Forum/Palantine Hill. Well, as our tour began 20 MINUTES LATE, we found out we were scheduled for the Colosseum at 3:30. Why is this so bad? We were rushed to get through the Forum/Palantine in ONE HOUR. Once you leave, you cannot re-enter. So, there was no ability for us to leisurely walk through the Forum/Palantine and soak in more images when the tour completed. I was very angry at the poor scheduling and not being told of this change.

This tour was everything I hoped it would be. Our guide, Samuel, was great. Very knowledgeable about the Colosseum, very engaging, and quick to answer all of our questions. The underground exploration was jaw-dropping and the views breathtaking. If you had to choose only one tour of the Colosseum, make sure it's this one.

the whole experience was amazing from the through the actual tour, our guide was just fabulous she was amazing a wealth of knowledge and kept us very interested in the whole time we was with her can't remember her name but she was from South Africa just amazing thank you
