Full description

Enjoy entry to one of Rome’s most popular museums with a ticket to Borghese Gallery, located in the former Villa Borghese Pinciana. Tickets for the museum are limited and often sell out. Marvel at the collection that has been described as the “Queen of all Private Art Collections”. Witness one of the most interesting, charming, elegant, and compact art museums in Rome, the collection is neither chronologically arranged, nor very ordinate.

Instead, it is a personal, lovingly matched collection that reveals the personalities and tastes of 2 people: Gian Lorenzo Bernini, the greatest of the Baroque artists; and Scipione Cardinal Borghese, the greatest art collector, who initiated the Roman Baroque. Particular highlights include the "Caravaggio Room," where you can see paintings like "David with the Head of Goliath." Admire works by Raphael, such as "The Deposition and Lady with a Unicorn," along with sculptures by Bernini, such as his "Apollo and Daphne" and "David." Take a stroll around the beautiful gardens of the Villa Borghese, and take in the view over Piazza del Popolo.

I’m usually not a big fan of galleries soo I decided to see this one with a guided tour and it was definitely much more enjoyable. The gallery itself has some spectacular pieces but the guide (Analiese) made it come to life with her passion and enthusiasm for history and culture. She was great.

Frederico was amazing. He brought the Baroque period to life. He was quite the storyteller, keeping my 8 yr old spellbound for over an hour. I feel like we all learned so much. The Borghese art gallery is breathtaking by itself, but so much would have been lost on us had we not had a guide. Worth the money!

The tour was very well organized, easy to find and started on time! Federico, the guide was excellent, one of the best guides i have ever experienced! He helped you to understand why the artist chose certain positions and what he was thinking when he he was creating the sculptures and paintings. It was an amazing tour!
