It is very informative and a great way to see the Colosseum without hordes of people. However, by doing this tour at night, you do not have access to the upper levels that are afforded day visitors, I assume for H&S reasons but with the limited number of people involved I am sure something could be organised if only for a very short while.

Really enjoyed this tour overall, honestly I thought it was magical and would go back a second time. Guide was terrific, maybe one of the best I've had. Passionate about the topic and clearly very knowledgeable. That said, there were some problem. Booking was a bit haphazard - I had reserved the day before and when I popped by to confirm (as I had heard there were problems with these night tours) they didn't have my reservation. Took an hour or so talking to get it sorted, though they did get me in for a night time tour. Honestly, I get technical difficulties but it was a bit of a waste of time. Staff were pleasant to work with. Tour in the Coliseum was a bit on the short side, I'd say we were in there for less than an hour (though maybe it was a full hour). I suspect that is driven by the facility but important to know you're not going to be in there for two hours.
