    You will have heard the expression, “When in Rome, do as the Romans do.” On this 5-hour tour you will become a Roman for the day and learn how to prepare a typical Italian home-cooked meal. Once you have finished class, it will be time to sit down in the lounge of an old Roman house, just seconds from the Spanish Steps, to enjoy the fruits of your labor. It all begins when you meet your chef who will take you to the enchanting markets and stores where Romans do their grocery shopping. There is no better way to get to know a city than to shop like a local, and you will be led on a journey to find the best of the day’s produce. Your cooking class takes place in an old house that was once the luxury home of a Roman princess. You will learn how to make and prepare homemade pasta the Italian way, and get tips on choosing an accompanying wine. Italians take their food seriously, but expect to have a lot of fun today. You will also pick up some handy tips that you can use when you return home. Now, it is time to sit down and taste your culinary masterpiece!

    Excellent and very entertaining

    I just cooked fried eggs and boxed puree. I loved this experience. I felt living the essence of Italy in its flavors and aromas. The chef Martina was charming, very nice and made the experience unique, from going to buy the ingredients with her (vegetables, ham, meats and cheeses) and the preparation and eating it afterwards ... Everything was left to my wife and my very tasty and I take home a nice memory and wanting to learn more. Highly recommended for those who really want to know Italy.

    Federico - faboulous chef and instructor from Fabiolous cooking day

    Because of Labour's day, 1st of May, we did not go to the market (closed), which would have made the experience even more valuable. We were a group of 4 from Norway and were joined by a group of 4 from Philadelphia. The chef, Federico Allessandri, walked us through the old jewish quarter of the city to the kitchen, which was nicely situated on Isola. We learned about quality, technique and taste, and to make our own perfect pasta dough and how to shape it into a variety of different pastas - and a tomato will never be just a plain tomato again! Artichokes are no longer just pretty vegetables! We were taught how to mix the ingredients into delicious dishes. Federico is a very competent and pleasant chef, has lots of humour and good stories to tell, and was able to create a pleasant atmosphere between new friends. We also extend thanks to his good and friendly helpers. We would certainly consider going to a new food session another time in Rome, and highly recommend this tour!
