Full description

Learn how to make Italian homemade pasta during this fettuccine and maltagliati-making experience in Rome. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by an English-speaking chef for a hands-on experience.

This is the time to introduce yourself and meet the other participants of the class. After that, you will start to work your own dough. Discover all the secrets of the dough, from the flour to the cutting. The local chef will guide you, step by step, from using flour and egg to cutting your fresh homemade pasta. The chef will show you the various types of cuts you could make with this recipe: tagliolini, pappardelle, fettuccine, and maltagliati, or “badly cut”.

You will cut your own fettuccine and maltagliati and then the chef will explain which traditional sauce is better for fresh pasta, such as carbonara, pesto, cacio e pepe, alfredo, etc. After that, you will sit down and enjoy an appetizer of bruschetta with tomatoes and basil, followed by your plate of 2 kinds of pasta with traditional sauces and a glass of wine. Conclude your meal with a glass of limoncello or coffee.

A unanimous highlight of our trip to Rome as two couples. A highly engaging, funny and informative session led by Jessica who kept the whole group involved. We loved the session, the setting (amazing restaurant-come-deli) and enjoyed the food we made afterwards with some great wine. A must for visiting Rome and something we’ll keenly recommend to any who will listen.

I booked this cooking class experience for my mother and she loved it! Her class was filled with a bridal party, also a great idea, and they all had so much fun. We were there in July and it was extremely hot, plus you are working inside the restaurant and there is no air movement. But the food was excellent, it was seriously some of the best pasta we had while in Rome! I made a short video of my mom in the class so if you would like to see more of what is involved you can watch it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KbBsTjz3jpQ&t=7s&ab_channel=RyanAnderson

This was a pretty nice event. It was a group of 15 people at Osteria Pasquino. It was a little confusing identifying the restaurant because the voucher said "Restaurant Pasquino," but the restaurant was actually called Osteria Pasquino. The instructor was outside waiting for everyone to gather, and we began on time. It was a pretty good deal for the money, but know that the 2 hour time window includes 1 hour of a cooking class and a second hour for dining with the group. Two critiques: It was very hot outside, so the class was hot since it was not in an air conditioned room. Also, I could have used a little more table space. We were squished together on one long table.
