This is the only place in the world where the underground landscape can be traversed on an electric train and where you can meet this underground kingdom’s most famous inhabitant, the proteus (olm), up close.  From here the tour extends to the Predjama Castle which reigns over the surrounding area in the idyllic village of Predjama. This picturesque, magnificent, defiant, mysterious and impregnable castle has been perched in the middle of a vertical 123-meter high cliff for more than 800 years. Its romantic appeal is further emphasized by the idyllic Lokva River, which disappears into the underground world deep below the castle. As the only preserved cave castle in Europe, the Predjama Castle offers a unique insight into the building techniques and resourcefulness of people in the Middle Ages, who found a safe harbor for themselves right at the entrance of the cave. During a siege that took place in the 15th century, the castle provided a refuge for its best known and most notorious owner, Erazem of Predjama. A private excursion to Istria from Zagreb. It is a long trip, about three hours but the trip was very interesting and enjoyable with Tanya. She explained part of the trip to me and gave me the option to choose one of the destinations depending on my preferences. We visited three towns, in each one of them he gave me the corresponding explanations, helped me with the photos and even managed the reservation of the restaurant in Rovinj. The excursion itself is worth it. Rovinj is undoubtedly one of the most picturesque and beautiful cities in Ukraine and the Pula amphitheater (the best preserved in the world) is absolutely spectacular. A great excursion and Tanya a wonderful guide…!!!

Overall, it was a very nice trip - the three guides really went to great lengths and explained a lot, and were always approachable. You could feel that they enjoy their work and do it with dedication. The organization was very good and everything went well. We opted for a transfer to the old town and the return journey by taxi boat (we skipped the gondola ride and lunch). However, we wouldn't do the return trip by taxi boat (30€/person) - you sit in a closed boat with small windows that aren't exactly suitable for looking out due to the salt water. But otherwise everything was fine.

Great day trip with nice guides, good food and a varied program. For the price, the trip is highly recommended. For lunch on the Lim Canal there was a choice of grilled fish or meat (chicken and bratwurst) with coleslaw, tomatoes and bread, which tasted delicious. They even provided complimentary wine and water. The stops in Rovinj and Vrasar are definitely worth a visit. Both swimming in the sea and shopping were possible. Unfortunately, drinks on board are a bit expensive (small water €2.50), which is usually the case. We liked it very much, gladly again!

Very good guide who could tell well and had a lot of information overalles, but dress warmly, it is a lot colder! It is also better to take an umbrella with you, which saves a lot of costs there. It rained for a while. Nice to have done and to see more of Croatia! It was a very long day but worth discovering something new.

For us, the tour ended up being a personal and private tour of Inner Istria with Sini, and what an exceptional and personable guide he is. He is proud of his country, and rightly so. Spectacular. His area and historical knowledge knows no end, a truly wonderful day, capped off with a wonderful lunch in Montovun.
