London: Sherlock Holmes 3-Hour Private Guided Tour

1. London: Sherlock Holmes 3-Hour Private Guided Tour

Immerse yourself in the world of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson on a half-day tour that is perfect for fans of the hit BBC TV series “Sherlock” as well as the original books by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Your guide will pick you up from your hotel and walk you to 221B Baker Street, the famous fictional address of Holmes, and now home to the Sherlock Holmes Museum. Now protected as a place of "special architectural and historical interest,” the handsome house includes a 1st floor study that has been faithfully maintained to depict the Victorian era. Pop into the next door Sherlock Holmes Store to purchase Sherlock memorabilia, and continue to locations in Central London used to recreate the Victorian atmosphere in the hit BBC series. Your guide can take you to Russell Square to show you where John Watson met the old friend that would change his life forever, or go to New Scotland Yard, headquarters of the Metropolitan Police on historic Whitehall. You will also see the spot where Sherlock jumps (or falls) to his "death" in the “Sherlock” cliffhanger episode “The Reichenbach Fall.”

London Literary Walking Tour (Bloomsbury)

2. London Literary Walking Tour (Bloomsbury)

This private walking tour takes you on an interesting 2.5 hour walk around the Bloomsbury district of London. What Montmartre in Paris is to the world of art then so is Bloomsbury to the world of literature. Bloomsbury was the center of the English-speaking literary world in the 19th and 20th centuries and to a degree still is.  The beautiful squares and quiet neighborhoods created a special community where writers from around the world would come to live and write in a creative atmosphere. On this tour you will visit the homes of a number of world-renowned writers, see the largely unchanged neighborhoods that they lived in and which helped form some of the greatest works of literature of all time. Just some of the places you will visit include the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood, Charles Darwin and the Suffragette Millicent Garrett Fawcett. You'll see the building that inspired George Orwell and his Ministry of Truth in 1984. Learn about the tragic life of Virginia Woolf, a prominent member of the Bloomsbury Group and the location of where Sir Arthur Conan Doyle invented the famous sleuth Sherlock Holmes and why he never liked his famous detective. Such luminaries as Gertrude Stein, Aleister Crowley, Charles Dickens, Oscar Wilde and WB Yeats round off the tour, not forgetting J M Barrie whose wonderful story of Peter Pan continues to help a world-famous children’s hospital in London to this day.

Great tour, an absolute must for all Sherlock fans!

We had a private tour with Kevin just for the three of us. Kevin not only showed us the locations of the Sherlock series, but also told us a lot about London, history and life in England. Absolutely recommendable, we would do a guided tour with Kevin again in a heartbeat.

I really enjoyed the tour.

My guide Kevin made me very happy with his many stories about Sherlock's film locations and other small and large bizarre episodes from London. Thank you very much

Kevin expressed himself clearly. He is very friendly.

Kevin answered questions in great detail. And told a lot that we didn't know about Sherlock. We really enjoyed the day and are very satisfied with the guide.

A must the guide was really cool !! Despite the weather we had a very good time and learned a lot not only about Sherlock but also about London itself.

Our guide Kevin presented us Sherlock London in a magnificant way.

Kevin explain us where Sherlock was filmed and explain us a lot about history of England. A very good combination. It was wonderfull.
