1. Granada: Albaicín, Sacromonte & Museum of Caves Walking Tour

Visit some of the most emblematic quarters of Granada. No trip to Granada is complete without having visited the Albaicín and Sacromonte. The tour will pass through Albaicín, protected as a World Heritage site by UNESCO in 1994. Also known as the old Muslim Quarter, it contains labyrinthine streets through which you will discover the fascinating world of Al-Andalus and enjoy the famous landscape of Granada from San Nicolás' viewpoint and more. You will then head to the Sacromonte Quarter, which contains more than 3,000 caves and panoramic views from hidden areas. Here you will get to know and understand gypsy culture in the Museo de las Cuevas, a place that demonstrates their history through legends and flamenco dancing. Your tour will also pass through principle Granada sites such as the Plaza Nueva, Placeta de San Gregorio and Casa Enrique Morente, all of which are prone for ideal photo opportunities.

We visited the caves, Sacromonte and Albaicín on foot with Fran, charming, very friendly and always ready to answer our barrage of questions. We hired the tour for 10:30 in the morning and since no more people signed up, it ended up being private. Despite that, they did the tour for us anyway, without changing the schedule or the language; It was great, an experience that is well worth doing and more with knowledgeable people. Highly recommended.

Well worth an hour’s visit with really interesting exhibits for all ages with each cave arranged by theme. Cool and shaded little bar area to sit awhile and of course great views. A bargain price for a memorable activity. Note there’s still a steep climb up the hill (steps) to get there from the bus/taxi drop off if coming from town.

Great tour. Caves are wonderful and our guide was very knowledgeable and passionate of the history and culture of the people who lived in them. Great to discover the origins of flamenco. Most of the walking is downhill and the views are some of the most incredible I’ve ever seen. Thanks Juanita

The tour with Juani was excellent! We learned all about the three cultures and gypsy life. Juani is very knowledgeable and knows everything about Frederico Garica Lorca. I highly recommend this tour!!!
