Step onto the renovated walkway of wooden boardwalks and make your way through the magnificent Los Gaitanes Gorge. Marvel at the rugged rock formations surrounding you and take in the spectacular views of the Guadalhorce River. Summon up the courage to cross the new suspension bridge 100 meters above the El Chorro Gorge. End close to the town of El Chorro after about 2 to 3 hours of walking, and catch the bus back to the entry point to enjoy lunch at a restaurant.

There are 3 pickup points to take bus so we had to plan according for time. Bring water or buy it. The first stop to eat and use the restroom didn’t have toilet paper so maybe bring your own. Make sure to bring sunscreen and reapply because you sweat and it will come off. It’s a long trail obviously but we had older people on it so it wasn’t super challenging. You can stay with the guide and they give you receivers to listen to them on about facts, direction, etc. Some stairs are very tiny so fair warning you may have to walk side ways or very slow. And at the end you still have to walk back from the trail to where you return your helmet.

what an amazing day out. we wanted to have a day trip out the the city. we chose a private tour as we wanted some flexibility and to be safer during Covid. our guide was Enrique - we could not have asked for a better guide. he was very knowledgeable, very kind and answered all my endless questions. on the drive there, he explained about life in Spain and some customs and the history of the country. really interesting. well worth the extra money - you would not have this benefit in a group tour.

Fantastic trip well worth the bus journey. Spectacular scenery. Great guide. We were very lucky with the weather. Bathroom facilities are at the restaurant at the start of walk and at the very end. I suggest you have your own tissues/hand gel as they are not the most hygenic. Bring something small to eat and drink or buy food at stalls when you finish hike. Stop on your way back to Seville is at a petrol station and most options on the menu were not available. What was available wasn’t great but don’t let that get in the way of a super day.
