It was AWESOME to have a knowledgable guide. As a former history student, Pablo even did a dig on site and could tell us about the artifacts he found. To see such a place with such rich history, you truly need to have a guide to maximize your time and to help you understand the beauty and history of what you are seeing.

I love using local guides for tours round historic buildings. Lola was our very informative guide around the beautiful Alcazar. Highly recommend this trip. Dash the thought of skip the line however as no evidence of that. It’s all on a timed ticket, and everyone enters through a small entrance to have tickets checked and bags scanned. We didn’t have to wait too long, and the guide talked about the history of the architecture whilst we queued.

It was a holiday with lots of traffic and our GPS sent us to the Seville suburb of Gines to a house with the same address as Hagen Das, 30 minutes away. We called the office which held our tickets. We made it to Hagen Das 2 hrs later. We missed our tour guide. But with tickets in hand and some pleading, the agents at Skip the Line let us in and our group rented headsets and did our own tour. We’re glad we didn’t give up locating Hagen Das because the beauty of touring Real Alcazar was a highlight of our trip and the gardens were an added icing on the cake. In the future we would love to spend more time lingering in the gardens. We would suggest arriving several hours in advance though as finding parking, locating Hagen Das and then walking to the Palace can take time. Well worth the effort.
