Full description

Wine lovers will enjoy this full-day tour through the beautiful Tuscan landscape with stops to visit some typical local wineries. Explore the famous wine hills of Montalcino and learn about the process and passion involved in creating Brunello di Montalcino, one of Italy's most prestigious wines. Your tour begins with a drive along the ancient Roman road from Siena to the famous wine hills of Montalcino.

The first stop will be at a small, typical area winery where you’ll have a chance to walk in the vineyards, explore the cellars, and enjoy an introductory tasting of world-famous Brunello wine. Next, you’ll head to Montalcino, the hill town that gives its name to the region and its wines.

Here you’ll have the opportunity to climb the fortress walls, spend some time browsing the shops and tasting the Brunello wines in wine bars, or simply enjoy the incredible views of the valleys and vineyards below. After visiting the town of Montalcino the tour continues on to the stunning ancient mystical Benedictine Abbey of Sant Antimo, a special place in a tranquil setting. You’ll enjoy a traditional Tuscan lunch at a family-run winery, accompanied by the delicious wines produced at the facility. Afterwards, you’ll have the opportunity to visit the farm. In the afternoon you’ll visit a third winery where you’ll get a detailed description of the wine-making process, and learn how the vines are cared for and about the long aging process in oak barrels.

After visiting the cellars and getting to know the winemakers, you’ll sit down for a final tasting of this nectar of the gods.

Mattia was an incredible guide! Extremely personable and knowledgeable about wine, winemaking, the region, etc. He was also very friendly with the winemakers we visited which was great to see. The wine itself was lovely as were the winemakers. Loved the home cooked lunch overlooking the incredible countryside. Overall, a very well executed tour that I would highly recommend!

Had a great time on this tour, our guide Francesco was very knowledgeable and personable, telling us lots about the wine region and the specifics about Montalcino. We visited three very different wineries and met lots of great people. Would definitely recommend as a way to see Tuscany and enjoy the wine.

Awesome tour of the Brunello region!!! We had a fantastic day. This tour exceeded our expectations. Our tour guide Ambra, is very knowledgeable and a lot of fun. My wife and I shared the tour with other 3 couples who made the tour even more enjoyable. Ambra is a very safe driver and knows the region very well. She first took us to the Casanuova delle Cerbaie winery, where Simone Carlotti explained to us the process that they follow to obtain their wonderful wines. Ambra also took us to the town of Montalcino and shared with us interesting facts that were fun to learn. Then, we visited Molino di Sant’Antimo winery, a family business. Giulia Vittori one of owners was our host and she treated us to a delicious lunch there, paired with their great wines. It was a treat! Lastly, we visited the Piombaia winery. They differ in the way they manage their vineyards. They use a method called biodynamic, it’s free of chemicals and works with the vines and not against them. It was very
