Verona & Amarone Full-Day Tour from Venice

1. Verona & Amarone Full-Day Tour from Venice

Discover the magic of the wonderful city of Verona and the regions of Amarone and Valpolicella. Head over to the medieval towns of the Valpolicella region and enjoy a chance to visit the 13th-century church of San Giorgio. There, admire the church's splendid altar, dating back to 712 A.D., as well as some of the most beautiful panoramic views of Sirmione and Lake Garda. From here, drive to a vineyard to have a guided visit and learn more about the famous Amarone wine. Taste some of the different wines they produce and have a chance to purchase a few bottles to take with you, such as Amarone and Recioto della Valpolicella. Onward, travel to the city of Verona at Piazza Bra, where the world-famous Roman Amphitheater – the 3rd largest in Italy - is located. It dates back to the 1st-Century A.D. and boasts more than 22,000 seats, making it a perfect venue for outdoor operas and concerts. Enjoy approximately 3 hours of free time (with optional lunch) to enable you to visit the house of Juliet (from Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet), the historical Piazza delle Erbe, and some of the exclusive shops around the city. Then just sit back and enjoy the views as you return to Venice.

What people are saying about Soave

This trip offers a perfect balance of town and country experiences, in a super friendly flexible package. The Amarone wine tasting at the top of a picturesque hill was enjoyable and informative. The optional ancient Soave castle visit with its crenellated ramparts, a short walk uphill from our drop off point, offered a unique and memorable interlude, as well as great photo opportunities. As for Verona, a few hours was enough to get the flavour of the old town or whatever you chose to spend these on. Under the expert leadership of professional guide and multitalented linguist Simone, our small group of strangers bonded rapidly and was able to share the pleasures of this varied program. Highly recommended!

We had a really great day out. Our guide was fantastic! The tour at the winery was very informative and we tasted some excellent wines. The time in Verona was also a treat, we got a map with the main sites and could explore the city. It is well worth seeing.
