7. From Southampton: Bath and Windsor Tour with London Drop-Off
After meeting your tour guide and driver, the tour will begin the journey into the limestone country, complete with rolling hills and honey-colored cottages, before edging westwards into the Mendip Hills towards Bath, a city popular for over two thousand years, owing to the hot thermal springs that attracted both Celtic Kings and a while later, Roman aristocracy and is still a popular destination today. On arrival, there will be a full tour followed by optional entry to the Roman Baths, a testament to the cult of Sulis Minerva, both a God of healing and of the underworld. Walk along the original Roman paving, admire the ruins of the ancient temple, and steaming baths. After the city tour there will be free time for lunch before the tour departs for its next stop, Royal Windsor. Over 900 years of Royal history await you at the majestic Windsor Castle, the largest inhabited castle in the world. You will have the option of entering the Castle (except on Tuesdays and Wednesdays) where you can see the state apartments and the Royal Chapel of St.George. The town of Windsor sits alongside the River Thames with royal parks, traditional shops, and typical English pubs, making it one of England's most popular destinations. Departing Windsor the coach will begin the drop-offs to selected Heathrow hotels, all Heathrow airport terminals, selected mainline train stations, and any centrally located London accommodation. Drop-offs at Heathrow begin between 5:15 PM and 5:45 PM, and the tour aims to drop off in London between 6:45 PM and 7:30 PM. All timings are approximate and subject to traffic and other delays.
