Head out on a half-day tour of the Alsace region and learn about this enchanting wine regions. Leaving Strasbourg, you will follow the wine route on the way to the town of Obernai. As you travel, your driver will tell you about the 7 different types of Alsace wines. Once in Obernai, take a guided walking tour of the winding streets, old houses with multicolored tiles, ensigns, and ramparts, and see the statue of St Odile, the patron saint of Alsace. Then stop at your first winery for a tasting session. Continue on to visit another winery in a typical Alsace caveau (a small wine cellar). Afterward, make your way back to Strasbourg, admiring the beautiful landscapes along the way.

Begin your full-day wine tour in the Mittelbergheim wine region, home to the Zotzenberg, Kastelberg, and Wiebelsberg Grand Crus. The soils here are particularly favorable for Riesling. Experience your first tasting with a selection that includes Pinot Blanc, Sylvaner, and Riesling. Continue on to the Dambach La Ville wine area. The village lies in the heart of the Alsace wine region and is home to the Grand Cru Frankstein. After some free time for lunch you’ll depart for the Ribeauvillé/Riquewihr wine area that is home to 5 Grand Crus appellations: Geisberg, Kirchberg, Osterberg, Schoenenbourg, and Sporen. Riesling is without a doubt the king of grapes in this area, but Pinot Gris, Muscat, and Gewürztraminer also produce some excellent area wines. Top wine growers include the Trimbach family that have been making wine since 1626 and the Hugel family, who started a bit later, in 1639. Admire the beauty of the medieval villages of Ribeauvillé and Riquewihr, and enjoy 2 afternoon tasting sessions at highly selected wineries, completing your Alsace wine tasting experience.

You’ll depart Strasbourg in the morning and make your first stop on this day-long tour in Colmar. Discover the charm of the old town, and visit the Pfister house, the Koïfhus, St. Martin’s Collegiate Church, and the picturesque neighborhoods of Little Venice. Explore the lovely village of Eguisheim, surrounded by vineyards. Admire its narrow streets, and the half-timbered houses with their colorful flowers.  Continue on to the fortified town of Riquewirh. Surrounded by ramparts, the village has survived wars and remained intact. See its tiny streets, fortified walls, and 16th-century houses, admiring the architectural harmony. You’ll have free time to explore the town and have lunch. After lunch you’ll follow the scenic Alsace Wine Route. Situated between the Rhine valley and the Vosges mountain range, the 60-year-old route winds across hilly slopes for over 170 kilometers. When you reach Haut Koenigsbourg Castle your guide will take you on a tour of the mighty fortress that overlooks the valley. Built during the 12th century, the Castle occupied a strategic position controlling the wine and wheat routes to the north and the salt route from the east.

Head south departing from Strasbourg where the first stop will be in Bergheim, a superb village on the wine route that contains many hidden wonders within its medieval walls. You will then have the opportunity to visit the charming town of Ribeauvillé, the ancient fief of the Lords of Ribeaupierre. History will call out to you on every one of its pedestrian streets.  After a visit to Hunawihr and a photo stop in front of its famous fountain, enjoy lunch in the village of Riquewihr, one of the best known in the region —  particularly renowned because of its idyllic location in the heart of the vineyard. The tour will continue to two villages that are equally famous for their historical character: Kaysersberg and Eguisheim. Wine-lovers especially will appreciate the next stop at the famous Belvédère Cattin, where you can take in a stunning panoramic view of the Alsace Plain with the Black Forest in the distance. At this stop, you can also check out an art gallery and buy some Alsace wine, if you wish. Head back to Strasbourg at the end of the afternoon, after a day filled with great memories and beautiful images.

The tour begins with departure from Strasbourg bus station and heads to the first stop of the day, historical Haut-Koenigsbourg Castle. Upon arrival, admire the building’s architecture, learn about the people who once lived here, and marvel at the castle's stunning views across the Black Forest. After the castle, the open-top bus follows the famous Alsace Wine Route, making a stop at one of the region's most well-preserved medieval villages along the way, Riquewihr. Spend some free time wandering through the village’s pictures streets, shop at a local store for a souvenir, or find a cozy restaurant for lunch. The tour continues to Kaysersberg next, to marvel at its beautiful fortified bridge nestled amongst the quaint village surroundings. Your day trip finishes with a visit to Colmar, a unique and endearing country town, for a ride on the tourist train. Please note that the tourist train doesn't run in November. Instead, there will be free time in the city.

Enjoy the quaint villages and stunning views along the Alsace wine route on this half-day trip from Strasbourg. Visit Barr, Mittlebergheim, and Andlau and discover these towns' expansive vineyards and historic buildings. Begin your tour in Strasbourg and head out on the Alsace wine route. In Barr, marvel at its famous vineyards, which produce the famous Alsatian Sylvaner, Riesling, and Gewurztraminer wines. Enjoy the town hall's intriguing architecture and see the Marco Folie, an 18th-century house turned museum. Continue to Mittlebergheim, a hillside village filled with winemakers' houses. As you wander through the narrow streets, admire the Renaissance town hall with its façade made of arches. Finish your tour with a guided visit to Andlau. Wander through the dainty streets dotted with old houses and learn about this town's long history. Find the ancient Saint Peter - Saint Paul Abbatial Church. Marvel at the church's Portal, decorated with beautiful Romanesque sculptures and the frieze-covered facade before returning to Strasbourg.

Departing from the city of Strasbourg, take part in a shared small-group day trip that will take you to one of the most emblematic regions of Germany. After meeting with your English-speaking guide in a centrally located meeting point in Strasbourg, depart for the town of Baden-Baden. Cross the nearby border of France into Germany, leaving the Grand Est region and entering the state of Baden Württemberg. The Black Forest is a forested mountain range bordered by the Rhine Valley to both the west and south. The highest peak is the Feldberg with an elevation of 1,493 meters. The name Black Forest comes from the general dark color of the numerous pine trees that grow in this region, and both the Black Forest gateau and cuckoo clock originate from this region. You soon arrive to the town of Baden Baden, a city which has attracted royalty, the rich, and celebrities throughout centuries. Follow your guide and discover the numerous architectural splendors and magnificent villas that are lined along the Lichtentaler Allee. After this short walking tour, admire the landscape as your tour follows the Schwarzwaldhochstrasse. There, the numerous viewpoints and belvedere will allow you to take in the stunning scenes of the Upper Rhine Valley of the Vosges Mountain Range of France in the distance. You later arrive to the pretty Mummelsee Lake, where you have some free time for personal discovery and lunch. With a circumference of 800 meters, a depth of 17 meters, and an elevation of 1,036 meters, Mummelsee is the largest, deepest, and highest of the Seven Cirque Lakes. Whilst there you might want to try local food such as cured meats, or the world-famous Black Forest cake. Following your tour, begin your return journey to Strasbourg. After a break for lunch your tour continues along the wine route of the Badischerweinstrasse. This wine route is the longest in Germany, spanning more than 500 kilometers. The route is lined with charming small towns, picturesque villages, beautiful landscapes, and mighty castles. Among a few stops made on your return journey is the village of Sasbachwalden. Set in the vineyards, this well-tended village is famous for having won the prestigious national "flowering of the villages" exam. This can be seen as you stroll through the streets and admire the gorgeous flower-decked half-timber houses. Following this final stop, your tour returns to Strasbourg.

The first stop after leaving Strasbourg is the city of Molsheim, famous as the home of Bugatti, among other things. You’ll explore the fortified old town of this ancient episcopal city, before going on to Rosheim, a village famous for its Romanesque church and old houses. After a visit to the village of Boersch and its famous 3 gates, head to Mont Sainte Odile and take in an exceptional panoramic view of the entire Alsace Plain. Your lunch break will be in Alsace’s second most visited city after Strasbourg: the cheerful city of Obernai. Take some time to explore this dynamic city and check out the local shops before setting off for the famous Château de Haut-Koenigsbourg in the early afternoon. Pass through many small towns and villages, all a delight to behold, before visiting the ancient castle fort built in the 12th century and thoroughly remodeled in the 15th century. It was a German imperial symbol during the reign of Wilhelm II. Head back to Strasbourg at the end of the afternoon, after a thrilling day spent discovering the very heart of Alsace.
