Stroll the cosmopolitan streets of Strasbourg on the market days of Wednesday and Friday to experience the city's everyday vibe, and visit many of the historical landmarks as you taste the produce of the Alsace. Set off from the monumental Strasbourg Cathedral and make your way through the pedestrian districts of the historical city center. Arrive at a central food market to sample local cheese, traditional bread, cold meat, Alsatian brioche “kouglopf”, and delicious French wine. See major landmarks such as the striking stained glass windows of the Maison Kammerzell hotel and the bronze statue on Place Gutenberg of the man who introduced printing to Europe with his printing press. The three of us (3 friends) took part in the culinary city tour. The 1.5 hour tour was beautiful, entertaining, interesting and also funny. Our guide Laurent gave us a good tour of Petit France. As for the culinary part: we tried a typical Kougelhopf and a Crémant d'Alsace (very tasty). After our tour of Petit France, we went to Mireille Oster's and tried gingerbread (can be substituted!). Finally we went to a Winstubb "Gruber" (near the cathedral), where we sat together with the group for the last half hour (unfortunately without Laurent, who had already said goodbye) and had a sausage and cheese platter with bread and 3 wines to try. Water was also served. We met super nice girls, but all in all the tour was too expensive in terms of value for money... unfortunately...
