Full description

Discover the islands of Lipari and Vulcano in a volcanic archipelago in the Tyrrhenian Sea on this day trip from Taormina. Ride in a climate-controlled bus to Milazzo and take a private boat to the island of Lipari and Vulcano.

Depart from Taormina aboard a comfortable bus to Milazzo harbor on the North coast of Sicily. Hop aboard a spacious boat and feel the sea breeze as you travel to Lipari, the most populated and most historically significant of the Aeolian Islands.

Spend free time exploring the Old Town which has vibrantly colored buildings, a stunning cathedral, and old fortification walls. Stroll through the narrow streets to uncover shops, cafes, and take in views of the turquoise sea.

Head to the island of Vulcano, which gives its name to all volcanoes. Have free time to visit its sulfurous mud baths, take in views of its smoking main crater, or go for lunch at a local restaurant.

On the way back to Milazzo, the tour follows the coastline to see the breathtaking Faraglioni Rock formation, the Horse Cave and the Mermaid's Rock. Transfer back to meeting point in Taormina by bus at the end of your tour.

We started very early in the morning but waking up was totally worthy. The boat trip was very nice and we had some time to visit lipari and vulcano islands. Only thing I can say is that the prices on the boat to buy a coffee or a snack were ridiculous, so we could eat anything until we got to the first island. Other than that, the tour is worth the money!

Very interesting visit to two Aeolian islands with a very professional and friendly guide. Also the crossing with the boat was very interesting because on the way back from the islands we passed next to other islands and rocks in the sea with the very interesting comments of the guides.

Everything was great, but unfortunately the sulfur bath wasn't possible, it was closed. It would be better to have more time for such a beautiful tour, for example climbing up the island of Vulcano where the crater is. Nonetheless, it was a very nice experience. Our guide spoke German and apart from me and my husband there was only one other couple from Germany. Thanks.
