What people are saying about Tivoli
It was a nice, none complicated tour. Everything on time. The visits to the Villas are short but unless you are a history or art lover, this is most of what you need to know or understand. The tour guide was really good consodering he does this thing 300 times a year. Was able to answer questions and paid attention to make sure people would know the details of the tour. Our tour included lunch. While it was rather simple, it was well made. A couple pasta options and for main course grilled cheese or a couple slices of roasted pig, little salad and a nice lemon sherbet (all well done). I do recommend doing it. It is worth the money.
Both tours were excellent, but lunch quality, not so much. There were plenty of restaurants in Tivoli that you can access for lunch instead of paying for the provided lunch. Both tour groups are on the same bus (those with and those without the pre-paid lunch) so you'll have the same tour of Hadrian's villa as well as Villa d'Este. Note that the gardens at Villa d'Este are wonderful but do require quite a bit of walking down ramps and stairs to see all levels, then you have to walk back up - well worth it!
Thoroughly enjoyed the trip to Hadrian’s villa and Villa d’Este. Giuseppe was a wonderful guide who gave us interesting information and some free time too. Recommend.
Enthusiastic guide that touched upon the key points - if you’re looking for something more in-depth, a self guided tour would be best. Villa E’Este was magnificent!
Experienced guide who explained various aspects of the major highlights giving you time to look and take pictures while listening to them.
