Full description
Travel from Tropea to Taormina in Sicily and explore the beautiful town on a day trip. The journey alone will enchant you as you pass by the Tyrrhenian cliffs overlooking the Aeolian Islands to reach the port of Villa San Giovanni. Continue on by ferry across the Strada di Messine. During the crossing you can enjoy an espresso on the deck and the panoramic views of Mount Etna and Messina. Taormina is known for its mild climate, lush vegetation, magnificent palaces, dreamy streets, elegant squares, and panoramic views at 200 meters above sea level at the foot of the Monte Tauro Mountains. You will be accompanied to Porta di Taormina, the entrance to the city, from where you can explore on your own. Stroll past chic boutiques and visit the Greco-Roman amphitheater, where you'll have a fantastic view of Mount Etna. Try Sicilian specialties, such as fresh arancini (rice balls filled with vegetables and ground meat) or granita (a sorbet-like desert). Let yourself be tempted to a shopping spree or just relax at the Piazza.

Nice trip

Very well organized excursion. German speaking travel companion. Attention, really only in German. A lot was reported about the region during the bus ride. There is no guided tour or similar in Taormina itself. Taormina is a very pretty town. The 3 to 4 hours you can spend there are actually almost too short. But if you keep an eye on the time, you can do a lot.

Great trip, unfortunately too little time in Taormina

Beautiful trip, recommended! Unfortunately we didn't have enough time in Taormina, 1-2 hours more would be fantastic. The driver Francesco and the tour guide Mara are very lovable. Very good detailed explanations about the country and its people and our bus driver super, even in the tightest corners he mastered his craft and brought us safely everywhere. Thanks a lot!

Very nice and interesting day tour.

Our collection went without a hitch. The bus was clean and our driver was very friendly. Our travel companion (Angela) turned out to be a great and talented entertainer with an immense knowledge of the past and present of Calabria and its inhabitants. It also gave us a humorous insight into people's daily lives. The journey over land and by ferry was therefore very varied and never boring! The city of Taormina showed itself at its best with brilliant sunshine. Of course it is a tourist magnet and always full, but that doesn't detract from your visit. In my opinion, the old amphitheater with an impressive view over the coast and on the other side of Mount Etna is particularly worth seeing. The restaurant "Bella Blu" recommended by our company and used by ourselves also has a great panoramic view over the coast, oh and the food is also good and came very quickly! So very recommendable tour!
