Madison Square Garden Behind the Scenes with a Sports Legend

1. Madison Square Garden Behind the Scenes with a Sports Legend

Step into the shoes of a top artist or athlete during an exclusive tour—GetYourGuide is teaming up with Madison Square Garden to give you special access to backstage areas not normally accessible to the public. Every visitor has a tale to tell about the iconic venue, and now you will too. Meet your expert guide on a 'dark day' when no events are held at The World's Most Famous Arena. Immerse yourself in nearly 150 years of sports and concerts. See for yourself why the Garden was dubbed the "Coolest Arena" in the United States by Rolling Stone and "Venue of the Decade" by Billboard. Step out onto the famous arena floor, the heart of the Garden. Who knows what you'll find — the basketball court? An ice rink? A stage? Walk around the space, imagining crowds of fans cheering your name as your guide shares stories of the performers and athletes who have trod this hallowed ground. As for the select special access areas, they vary depending on the day of your tour. You could feel the spirit of legends like Elvis Presley, John Lennon, the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Madonna, Elton John, Stevie Wonder, U2, Bruce Springsteen, Katy Perry, and Taylor Swift beside you in the green room and artist dressing rooms. You could join the ranks of so many celebrity performers before you by getting your picture taken in the legendary freight elevator. Marvel at the kegs in the beer room. Or, perhaps, visit the premium hospitality center, the elite sanctuary known as the J.P. Morgan Club. You could get a close-up view of the iconic concave ceiling of the Garden's Bowl from the Chase Media Bridge, home to unique seats thanks to a bridged catwalk-style design that has you hanging over the seats below. Look inside the adjoining Expo Center, used for trade shows, car shows, stamp shows, and more. You could peek inside the organ booth, where music is played to pump up the crowd for Knicks and Rangers games. Imagine interviewing a coach or player after a big game in the press room. Picture psyching yourself up for a big game in the locker room beside NBA legends. And speaking of sporting legends, a Knicks or Rangers alumnus will make an appearance during your tour. Take a selfie with them. Ask about their career as a professional sports player and what it's like to play in the incredible atmosphere of Madison Square Garden with the crowd chanting your name.

One of the best things we did was take this boat tour while visiting Chicago for the first time. You will learn so much interesting facts about Chicago and it’s amazing to see the city in a different view. I highly recommend dressing for the weather. It can get windy and cold so bring a jacket and sunglasses if it’s sunny.

Great tour, gives you enough time to take photos at the Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon and the food was also good. Remember to check the weather before your tour as it can be really cold or really hot. The bus has good air conditioning so it was really nice and comfortable.

Antelope Canyon was so amazing. Our guide, Amber, was great! She gave us lots of information, was funny and took amazing pictures of us throughout the tour. I would highly recommend this tour.

It was very informative and exciting. The history is amazing and the guide was very personable and informative. I will be recommending this tour to any one that will head your way.

Conor was very knowledgeable and the tour was a great pace with lots of info!
