Take a stirring journey through art and religious history with skip-the-ticket-line entry to the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel. Avoid the long ticket lines and then enjoy your visit at your own pace.  Wander through the Greek Cross Gallery to see elaborately-carved sarcophagi that might just contain the earthly remains of some of antiquity's famous kings and queens.

Peek at the Cabinet of the Masks, or tour the Sala degli Animali to see a virtual menagerie of fantastic beasts, real and imagined. Walk the Upper Galleries, including the Gallery of Maps, to see how cartographers depicted the world through the ages.

See masterpieces by Renaissance masters in the Raphael Rooms, and rest for a while in the Borgia Apartments. Then, it’s time to marvel at Michelangelo’s exquisite Sistine Chapel, the crown jewel of the Vatican, and perhaps even of all the world’s art treasures.

Easy to book and to collect the tickets. We booked the bus tour and it was great. Best part of the activity. Vatican Museums are not the best place to go with kids even in low season although is one of the best options for a rainy day in Rome.

Definitely recommend buying this ticket. The Vatican was so busy when we went with huge queues but we could skip ahead to the get your guide queue and walked straight through, you have to print out your paper tickets inside the main entrance using the screens and then you can properly enter.

After passing the security check, we went directly upstairs, which avoids the crowds on the ground floor. The museum is big, there are a lot of things to see and you will be amazed! We stayed almost 4 hours, going faster towards the end because the time was starting to get long. Plan comfortable shoes On the other hand a little disappointed by the lack of information on the site: after entering we are told that the audio guide is recovered on the 2nd floor when it was 20 m further. There is a direction of visit but which is not so clearly identifiable to begin with, and once launched there are very few places that one can dodge which forces one to cross the museum up and down. Finally on the tickets we read mandatory FFP2 mask, temperature control, mandatory cloakroom to leave your umbrella because prohibited.. None of that. So we did our 4 hour visit with our soaked coats, scarves and umbrellas. Not very comfortable.
