Venice: Traveling Opera in a Historic Palace on Grand Canal

3. Venice: Traveling Opera in a Historic Palace on Grand Canal

Experience Italian Opera in one of the most important Venetian-Gothic style palaces in Venice, Palazzo Barbarigo-Minotto. Within this historical venue, an innovative approach to opera has been conceived, with a formula that focuses on the interaction between the singers, the musicians, and the audience. This gives spectators the feeling of living Opera ‘from the inside’. This sensation is amplified by the clever 360-degree use of the ‘stage’ and by having the guests move through 3 different rooms within the Palazzo, one for each act of the show. The whole setting changes, not just the background. Reviving a tradition dating back to the late 1800s, this reimagining is brought to life by some of the finest lyrical voices, accompanied by a talented small group of strings and a piano: a virtuoso ensemble who performed in some of the most prestigious concert halls in the world. Opera offered: • La Traviata - Melodrama in three acts by Giuseppe Verdi (Mon - Tue - Thu - Sat) • Il Barbiere di Siviglia - Light-hearted melodrama in two acts by Gioachino Rossini (Wed - Sun) • Rigoletto - Intense drama about love and vengeance by Giuseppe Verdi (Fri)

What people are saying about Venice

We had been let down by another site who cancelled due to the Tour of Italy bike race. I wasn't expecting to be able to book another but luckily we were and it was a fantastic day trip. Miriam went above and beyond, finding a route to avoid the road closures. She was very knowledgeable, friendly and a great tour guide. We visited 2 vineyards and sampled many wines. There were only four of us on the tour which was great too. We had a lovely lunch at a restaurant Miriam found, again not easy because many were closed. It was a fab full day's trip.

I booked the tour via the Jesolo Magazine website https://jesolo-magazin.com/guenstig-von-punta-sabbioni-nach-venedig/. Everything worked perfectly, in 30 minutes you are at St. Mark's Square. The parking lot in Punta Sabbioni usually costs 7 euros per day. This is currently the cheapest and fastest way to travel from Punta Sabbioni to Venice.

We loved this tour. The drive through Prosecco valley was so beautiful and the wineries were awesome. Both hosts were wonderful and explained their wineries to us and had great spreads of food to go with the Prosecco. Definite would recommend!

Very nicely organized trip. All activities on time. Great hostage from Eleonora

Absolutely fantastic! Federico was such an amazing tour guide
