What people are saying about Verona
Can't say it was exactly what I expected. It was more. Story shared not by "just some professional", but by someone who has it in her heart and blood. Add to that calm country side, a million worth view over a valley, while tasting a wine in a most pleasant and enjoiable way. Everything explained, all questions answered. I really can recomend it. One note Getting there. Either by car or by taxi.
We visited the Franchini winery and it was absolutely the best wine tasting we have ever had. The cellar is like no other and the Amarone and Ripassa was spectacular. Order the cheese and meat on top for 5 Euros. Made the wine taste even better!!! Wish we could ship to Canada but it’s as expensive as the wine or more so we just drank while there.
We learned a lot about wine production in the Valpolicella region and tasted great wines. The guides were very knowledgeable and answered all questions patiently and great detail.
Well worth it to get the history of the amphitheatre (arena) ahead of attending the opera later in the evening, that same day.
This was a great introduction to Sirmione with a pleasant boat ride around the peninsula.
